Hi Maria. Do you enjoy movement and veins in the granite or a more consistent, speckled pattern?

  • Maria 08:51PM, Nov 26 2012

Just ordered white cabinets.. kitchen walls are off-white/cream color... looking for warm colors .. something w/white in the granite to compliment the cabinets... any ideas?

Hi Frieda. I also enjoy the design idea of a warm countertop with golden hues within the granite to complement the kitchen. The granite will still be able to offset the white cabinets so it's a good way to go. In addition to the wonderful African Beige, I also recommend to consider Giallo Veneziano and Ouro Brasil. In regard to backsplash tile, I suggest to look at our Capadoccia Glass & Tumbled Travertine as well as a simpler option such as a Cream Travertine in a block mosaic. I've attached photos of my suggestions for your reference. Hope this helps!

I am installing traditional linen white cabinets along with a new floor so my options are open. Initially I looked at dark granite with lots of movement but then I get hung up on the flooring and backsplash.  A friend suggested a warmer look with lighter and softer colors, so here I am with African Beige (I like the earth tones).  Any other suggestions?  What would you suggest for flooring and backsplash?  Thank you

Hello. If you want to keep it neutral, then it will be hard to pick a "wow" granite that will make the countertop a focal point of your kitchen. My recommendations for you would be Lapidus Classic, New Colonial Dream, and Golden Valley MG. Hope this helps!

  • Kastlerfarm 02:18PM, Jul 30 2012

Hi, we are remodeling the kitchen.  The cabinets will most likely be oak in a wheat color.  I want to keep everything neutral but want a wow affect with the granite.  What can you suggest.

Golden Beach is a rich and interesting stone with beautiful bursts of quartz crystals. I recommend it highly against your warm cabinet shade. Another suggestion that can look stunning is Colonial Cream, as well as New Colonial Gold. Good luck!

  • Jdom752 04:37PM, Jun 23 2012

Hi. My cabinets are a maple wood in a terrain color( rich med brown). And butterscotch oak floors. We are leaning towards golden beach. Thoughts? Suggestions? My home also is mostly earth tones and shades of gold

For rich golden hues with black highlights, I recommend to take a look at Amarello Boreal, Amazon Tiger, Florence Gold, or Brown Alpine. These are dark enough to provide a deep contrast against the cabinets. Let me know your thoughts on these!

Biscotti with coconut glaze cabinets - What do you think of African Beige granite?

  • Janet 01:10PM, Jun 11 2012

I have medium oak kitchen cabinets and I need suggestions for countertop. I'm loving the dark with speckles of golden and light. Walls will be golden. Any suggestions for granite countertops and tile on floor?

Overall, the African Beige has a consistent pattern throughout the slab, not a pattern of veins and movement. You must see the slabs in-person to truly visualize the stone.

  • KC 06:48PM, Jun 2 2012

is the granite pattern consistent or does it show different design patterns in the slab such as a circle of black speckling or lines of color on a less speckled portion of the countertop slab?

The African Beige featured on this page sounds like the perfect choice for you. Another option that could possibly work is Toffee or Giallo Antico. Hope this helps!

  • Karren 04:28PM, Apr 14 2012

We are installing knotty, probably a medium stain alder cabinets.   The floor title is a light beige/gold tone. Was looking at the African gold.  Would like a medium color with some darker black brown tones.

Your description is vague for the granite counters, my recommendation is to look at Tropical Brown for an elegant contrast. In regard to backsplash, a Pietra Bianco Harlequin tile is appropriate. You can also make the tile more exciting with a mosaic such as Piano York Glass & Stone from Somertile Reflections. I've attached photos for your reference.

We have light oak-Medium  cabinets and are looking to get Granite counter tops , was looking at the speckled with the brown and black (not sure of the name) what do you think, and also what about the backsplash what would you put with it to look nice...thanks

The African Beige granite featured on this page is a warm and appropriate choice to go against your cabinet shade. Some other options for you to consider are Giallo Antico and Santa Cecilia Classic. Hope this helps!

Imperial Coffee is a very nice choice with a consistent, tight grain and beautiful, reflective flecks. Also take a look at Bahia Brown.

A creme colored sink would indeed be a softer and more neutral choice to go along with stainless steel, it's a tough choice. Stainless steel goes along well with most design elements of any color as it's quite a universal material to use. You should compare both options and pick the combination you're attracted to more. Good luck!

  • MP 12:36AM, Apr 3 2012

Imperial Coffee looked elegant and not too busy. What do you think?

  • MP 03:11PM, Mar 31 2012

I am leaning toward dark. The New Colonial Dream is too busy. I would like black with some color to pick up the medium maple cabinets, and noche backsplash. I would like it to be elegant, but not busy. I can see the counter from my living room, so I do not want it to "overpower" the space.

  • MP 02:50PM, Mar 31 2012

I like the color, and we will come see  the  Giallo Ornamental. If I go with statainlees steel victorian faucet instead of bronze,  I am wondering if a brown sink would still work, or maybe a cream color might be better?

I recommend Giallo Ornamental granite for the vanity top to go along with a black or dark brown composite sink.

Please suggest a granite counter for kitchen to go with brown maple cabinets, noche backsplash, black sink, and black appliances. Have old world/traditional decor in an open floor plan.

  • Monica Post 06:50PM, Mar 25 2012

I will be getting a brown based dark cherry bathroom vanity. I have sage green walls, and noche ceramic tile on the floor and on the wall around the open bathtub. I would like to have bronze faucets. Please suggest a granite counter, and a color for the sinks.

Paola, as per our email, we do not have any stone by the name of Sagebush, nor any alternative name like this. Do you have a picture of your Sagebush so we can match it up to colors in our stock? Sometimes fabricators give a stone their own name so it might be called something different with us.

The aforementioned stones you've suggested are also wonderful because they offer that deep contrast we've been discussing, but also have some golden and brown highlights to compliment and pick up the oak wood at the same time. Out of your choices, I'm leaning toward the likes of Portofino Classico or Boreal. Make sure to look at the slabs in-person and make your final decision this way! In addition, I've created a little Comparison Chart for you to check out those two stones side by side:

Hi Derek, Although I'm not fond of green granite, I thought your suggestions looked beautiful with golden oak cabinets.  I would just like your thoughts on Portofino Classico, Giallo Vicenza, Boreal and Florence Gold.  I think your suggestion of a deep contrast is perfect and I may very well go with one of them.  I am hoping for a granite with a blend of dark and warm contrast colors.  Thanks so much, Mary

I'm leaning toward recommending you a darker, elegant color tone for a deep contrast to offset the golden oak natural wood. Options such as Golden Jade, Ubatuba, or Butterfly Antique are quite appropriate. Let me know your thoughts on these. If that's too dark for you, I can give lighter suggestions, however I truly feel a color such as one of those would work very nicely.

Absolutely! You're on the right track, a light creamy beige color that would work nicely is Astoria. However, for a stronger contrast I would recommend to consider going even a little darker, perhaps in the range of granite's such as Tropical Brown, Toffee, or Giallo Antico. Hope this helps!

Looking to buy granite countertops, however, we are keeping our traditional style golden oak cabinets. I'm interested in a contrast to the oak .  Would appreciate your suggestions. Mary

We're going to have white cabinets in our kitchen, and I was thinking of a beige or light mocha color for the granite, to add a little warmth and coordinate with the rest of the house.  What do you think of that?  Any specific suggestions?

02:07PM, Feb 14 2012 For darker, sleek, and elegant options, you can also consider Imperial Coffee, or Ubatuba. If you enjoy movement and veins in the stone, you could also look at Jacaranda Wood, Ibere Crema Bordeaux, or Verde Sequoia. Good luck!

  • Joanne 02:53AM, Feb 8 2012 I'm having trouble deciding on a granite color. Small U shaped kitchen, with plenty of natural light.  Maple cabinets in a light cinnamon stain with a choc. glaze Black appliances and a cream colored tile floor with the small specks of the cinnamon in the floor. Some of the granite I've looked at looks so peachy or rosy.  Please point me in the right direction.  I don't want the granite and cabinets to just blend into each other.  Thank you.

06:22PM, Sep 30 2011 Hello. Please give me some more information, this does indeed sound unusual. What is the name of the stone? Was the granite installed by us? If possible, you sending a picture of the "spots" would be really helpful.
  • Dew61314 05:59PM, Sep 30 2011 I just got new granite countertop but was surprised to see some white SPOTS, in the granite.  NOT part of the coloring, more of a discoloring, like  bleach spots... Why would that be?
