Are there any wall colors you've been looking at so far that have caught your attention? My recommendations are along the lines of Benjamin Moore Lighthouse Landing or Heartsmere. Let me know your thoughts.

I have darker cabinets and went with the colonial gold. My back splash is a lime stone with grout and matches the counter well. Maybe too well. I have all white appliances and wood wood work. The kitchen is rather small and I don't want to go with dark colors. I have been trying to come up with a wall color or other colors to use with this to make the kitchen pop..Any suggestions

I'd use a darker granite shade for an efficient contrast to the hickory perimeter cabinetry and because darker stones are generally more durable and less porous. Timeless and classic choices that I recommend are Ubatuba, Tropical Brown, Toffee, and Imperial Coffee. You should reseal the stone once a year to keep it stain resistant. Hope this helps!

We are in the middle of a kitchen remodel, we are keeping half of our light hickory cabinets.  We are adding a black antique rubbed island and the floor is natural asain walnut.  I am having a hard time picking a granite shade, as I am worried that it will be too busy.  They layout of the kitchen is very open into a family room, dining room and office area.  Any suggestions?  I also have 3 small children, so I was also concerned of staining on the granite from juice.  Thanks!

I feel that the Colonial Gold would be a warm and appropriate choice to go against your Chestnut colored cabinetry. Some other similar options you can consider are New Colonial Dream and Colonial Cream. For a floor tile suggestion, take a look at Daltile Fidenza Bianco porcelain tile. I've attached a picture for you. Good luck!

I have ordered Kraftmaid kitchen cabinets in a Chestnut stain w/onyz glaze, am leaning toward Colonial Gold as a countertop, have not picked out floor but interested in a neutral beige ceramic floor, as pictured in #9 above.   Do you think this color would be fitting for an open floor plan kitchen.  Thank you for your advice, as I am overwhelmed with the many choices.   I have also seen speckled granite, but feel it may be too busy for my taste.

08:26PM, Jan 20 2012 If you keep coming back to this granite color, and it's attractive to you, then let me tell you that you should definitely use the Colonial Gold. It's a solid, timeless, and classic choice, with a light base for good contrast to offset your cabinetry but also has golden veining for warmth and richness. Go for it!
  • Maryfala 03:31AM, Jan 20 2012 I am having a hard time picking a granite, i have taken home this sample 2x so I thinking this must be the color. I have light gold color walls hardwood floors stained in a medium color cherry my cabinets are kraftmaid maple with chestnut finish. 03:09PM, Dec 1 2011 If you use a less busy honey onyx subway tile such as the picture I've attached (or something similar), then I think it would be a perfect compliment for your Colonial Gold granite.
  • MaryAnne 07:24PM, Nov 28 2011 I have medium oak cabinets and just installed colonial gold granite.  I'm really loving a 3 x 6 honey onyx subway tile for the backsplash.  My floor is 6 x 6 tile (gold/brown/greenish colors).  Do you think the honey onyx subway tile will be too busy with the granite and floor?  I do not want to do smaller tile!

02:37PM, Jun 24 2011 For a choice with blue tones, try Benjamin Moore "White Satin".
  • Debbie Rogers 02:41AM, Jun 24 2011 I was thinking of something in the blue range for the colonial gold, but like the greens for the master bath with rain forest green.

09:11PM, Jun 23 2011 I agree with Derek’s “Barely Beige” suggestion for the hall bath. For the master, check out BM’s “Hint of Mint” and “Tint of Mint”. If you want to achieve a formal feel, a deep brown like BM’s  “Cougar Brown”  and “Toasted Marshmallow” would look lovely.
Let me know what you think so far!

12:39PM, Jun 23 2011 For the Colonial Gold hall bath, I recommend Benjamin Moore "Barely Beige". The Master Bath can have a color with green undertones such as Benjamin Moore "Light Pistachio". Let me know what you think.
  • Debbie Rogers 08:05PM, Jun 22 2011 Using Colonial Gold in a hall bath with medium oak cabinets. Using Rain Forest Green in Master Bath with medium oak cabinets. Using Venetian Bronze faucets and accessories in both. What color paint would you recommend for each bath?

  • Cherise 01:36AM, Aug 7 2010 Remodeling and need help with a granite color for countertops and island! Cognac cabinets with a medium dark walnut floor. Was looking at Kashmir Gold or Colonial Gold. What do you think - Any other suggestions?
  • Jennifer J 07:59PM, Aug 5 2010 I'm searching for a granite to go with my ivory colored cabints with a light brown glaze, biscuit colored appliances and hardwood floors stained in provencial. Going for a clean timeless classic look. Leaning towards a lighter colored granite as the kitchen is not very big and want to keep the space as open looking as posible. Do you have any suggestions?
  • Maria Abernathy 03:41PM, Jul 27 2010 If granite gets wet outside & appears darker than the top portion, will the darkness dissappear when dry? I looked at some that was darker at bottom and it was leaning toward another piece. I felt and it seemed day, but I did not like the darker shade.
  • Teresa Marino 11:44AM, Jul 21 2010 Follow up to my previous comment/reason I did not pursue further was told this granite was no longer available, then just recently was told this still was available. Went onto you web site and guess what here it is

  • Laura P 10:31AM, Apr 23 2010 Hello, We have galley kitchen with an open floor plan to the dining area + living room. I am struggling to find granite. The room colors are dark cranberry and tan. My cabinets are Sangria - so also a cranberry with staneless appliances. I wanted a tan/gold + cranberry highlights granite. I loved Kashmire Gold until I went to see slabs as it's too gold. Looking more for tan over gold with movement. Any recommendations for me?
  • Fran 09:58AM, Mar 25 2010 Is the burgundy perceptible to the eye? Is this considered a stone with a lot of movement?
  • Susan 12:43PM, Jan 13 2010 I love the look of marble, white with gray theads and gold. Told I shouldn't put it in the kitchen/counter top. If I have it honed will that help prevent the staining I always heard about?
  • Patty Mills 07:21PM, Oct 27 2009 We have to look at something more neutral since our house will be for sale in 1-2 years. What do you think of Colonial Gold with maple/honey cabinets/white appliances/oak floors. Back walls are cream tile? Right now the kitchen has allwhite corian counters and it is very nice/but dated.
  • Ellen 11:39AM, Oct 26 2009 I have light oak cabinets that have darkened a bit. Would colonial gold or antique gold be good choices? Do you have any other suggestions for a traditional house?
  • D 05:54PM, Aug 19 2009 Yes, the floor is hardwood planks in a provincial finish. I saw the colonial gold in a new kitchen with darker wood cabinetry at it looked very nice. I could see the gray sediment in it which is why I thought it may go well with the cream cabinets/pewter glaze as well. Thank you.
  • D 04:31PM, Aug 19 2009 Would this color Colonial Gold work well with off white/cream painted cabinets that have a pewter glaze?
  • DIANE 01:46PM, Jul 21 2009 I found a gorgeous leathered colonial gold, but always thought I would go with polished. The polished is too rust for my liking. Is the upkeep the same? Is it a trend?"
  • kathleen 10:03AM, Jul 8 2009 What granite would go best with my kitchen? I have chestnut chocolate glaze cabinets, light color tan floors, and a peachy brown color on the wall.
  • Anna 11:28AM, Jun 16 2009 Where can I find this granite in my area. I live in NC. I hope you can help.
  • Lisa 12:15PM, Apr 6 2009 Hi, We have an open kitchen plan w. goldish/green walls, maple mocha kitchen cabinets (give off a rosey/orangey), and hardwoods that blend with cabinets. Our kit. tile backsplash is gray/white/coppery. Replacing Corian w. granite but don't want dark as kitchen gets little light and is kind of gloomy with exisiting gray toned Corian. Considering "Santa Cecilia" however, we concerned it may blend right into the cabinets. Kindly advise how to accomplish some contrast while toning down our rosey/orangey cabinets. Thanks!
