You can use a warm color such as Giallo Napole or Ouro Brasil to complement the ivory island.

Have you thought about using the Emerald Pearl as a full granite backsplash all the way to the upper cabinetry? This would create a continuous flow for the design and a perfect match -- just some food for thought. In regard to tile options, I recommend to consider a glass backsplash such as Mirabelle Collection blue, grey, brown tile in a brick pattern. I've attached a photo for your reference. Good luck!

That sounds like the Emerald Pearl came out looking truly stunning! Congratulations!

from Maryann...I installed emerald pearl with my country french style blue and yellow-goldish walls and light cabinets....it looks fantastic....I love the emerald pearl...it is so rich looking and compliments my kitchen....I loved all the granite with the movement but I knew it could clash with my kitchen decor....the emerald pearl was a great choice....it seems to have more blue than emerald flecks....it is just beautiful  and seems to reflect beautifully in all shades of lighting.....

You can start your tile backsplash when the granite one ends -- this often happens and is a normal occurrence. A light and not too busy glass tile recommendation I have in mind is from the Mirabelle Collection called smoky brown glass in a brick pattern. I've attached a picture for your reference.

  • Denise 09:50PM, Mar 12 2012

I recently had my kitchen remodeled.  We have darker cabinets and a dark wood floor. The counters are Luna Pearl.   I'm wondering what type of back splash you would recommend. I prefer glass mosaic tile but I'm afraid it will look too busy with the granite.  My second question - the counter guys installed a 3-ish inch Luna Pearl back splash. Do I need to get rid of the granite back splash to add my own or can I just start my back splash where the granite ends.  Thanks!

08:20PM, Feb 18 2012 I do not categorize the Emerald Pearl as a busy stone, it's reflective flecks are very beautiful and will make for an elegant atmosphere as well as it's blue highlights will compliment the elements in your design. I say go for it!

04:39PM, Feb 18 2012 Can you provide us with a link or upload a picture of the backsplash tile? As for the wall color, I feel like a soft and calm neutral shade such as Benjamin Moore "Lookout Point" or "First Snowfall" would be appropriate.
  • Maryann 01:49AM, Feb 17 2012 Please help.....I have a coutnry french ....yellow and blue....light maple cabinets and light floor...black appliances...confused as to which granite...I love the Emerald pearl...picks up on the blue and I can not have anything too busy because my golden yellow and blue walls are dramatic.....I need help asap....thanks

04:30PM, Feb 16 2012 Dear Camallinger, It seems like inadvertently we did not answer your question for the backsplash suggestion, it somehow was lost in the mix of questions we receive every day. We're sorry about that, and would you share with us what you ended up choosing? Thanks!
  • Dan 07:06PM, Feb 15 2012 We have just installed Emerald Pearl countertops with white European cabinets. The floor has 1'x 2' predominantly white tiles with subtle hues of blue and tan. For back-slash we have mosaic mediterranean olive tiles - mix of olive green, light olive , white marble and a few translucent tiles. Can you recommend a grout color for the backslash and wall colors?
  • mc 11:22PM, Feb 11 2012 I just installed a mosaic backsplash in  grey black and white.   I purchased the tiles at Home Depot at a steal. It looks great with the white grout.  You could go to Home Depot buy a few samples and see what fits.  If they don't look right you can always return them.  That's what I did until I found the perfect fit.  I am now deciding on what to put on the floors.  I am looking at grey tiles for the floors and paint the walls a light grey.
  • Camallinger 12:22AM, Jan 15 2012 I have emerald pearl granite counters, honey oak cabinets, a light ( beige, grey) tile floor and stainless steal appliances. I am having so much trouble finding a backsplash, any suggestions??

05:56PM, Oct 11 2011 If you have not already purchased the olive glass backsplash, a tumbled marble with green accent tiles would work very well. Another great option is a honed White Cararra in a subway style.

04:39PM, Sep 6 2011 I’m a huge fan of the Emerald Pearl especially against cherry cabinets. Like Derek mentioned, it’s an elegant and rich combination so go for it. For the backsplash, take a look at a light tumbled marble or tumbled White Cararra with Emerald Pearl tile inserts. Another neat design element I’ve seen is an Emerald Pearl door knob & pull! It’s definitely a fun way to finish off the design. My vote is for the Emerald Pearl!

06:21PM, Sep 1 2011 Sounds like a solid combination, cherry cabinets against Emerald Pearl is a warm and elegant combination, thumbs up from me! The tile color also looks very warm, and will tie the design in nicely, go for it! As for backsplash, something like an Olive Blend Natural Stone Mosaic in a 2" x 2" pattern could be a good match, as it has inserts with shades that pick up the granite and the floor tile. I've attached an image for your reference. Good luck!
  • Zinoette 05:46PM, Aug 31 2011 Also, do you have any suggestions for backsplash?

05:02PM, Aug 31 2011 My suggestions are Blue Celeste Brick pattern tile and Ming Green marble mini brick mosaic. I've attached images for your reference. Let me know what you think!
  • Zinoette 03:26PM, Aug 31 2011 Any thoughts on cherry cabinets, emerald pearl granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, Benjamin Moore shaker beige paint, and Mannington Pietra Porcelain Beige tile floor?

03:27PM, Aug 25 2011 If you want a cool feel, consider using a honed White Carrara tile. But if you want a warm look, consider using a Botticino tumbled marble with Emerald Pearl tile inserts to give the backsplash more visual interest. Let me know what you think!

  • Jackie Barraco 07:46PM, Aug 22 2011 We are having Emerald Pearl counter tops installed today.  We have hard wood floors with Oak cabinets with white applicances.  We have lots of windows which give off lots of lights.  Can you give me some suggestions for back splashes?
  • Klux54 01:27AM, Aug 21 2011 Thanks--we went with Emerald Pearl and it is gorgeous with my white cabinets.  I'm going to look for tile this week and will keep your suggestions in mind.  I like the idea of the white carrara--I thought about turning it diagonally and accenting with glass tiles.  I didn't know you could get emerald pearl tile inserts.  That sounds great.  Thanks for the help.

09:54PM, Jul 27 2011 Emerald Pearl 100%, hands down! It looks absolutely stunning against maple cabinets paired with stainless steel appliances and wood floors. The stone has a beautiful, rich feel that will provide you with a dramatic but warm contrast. My vote is for the Emerald Pearl!
  • Dan 08:34PM, Jul 27 2011 My wife is trying to decide between Emerald Pearl and Black Pearl. We have light Maple cabinets, Oak floors and stainless appliances. Any thoughts?

05:40PM, Jul 14 2011 I agree with Derek’s backsplash suggestion. A White Carrara or just plain white subway tile would look stunning with your setup. A tumbled White Carrara tile would also be a great choice for the space. Let us know what you think!

01:05PM, Jul 14 2011 Both are solid choices that are appropriate and gorgeous for your design, but I am also leaning towards the Emerald Pearl. This granite gives more of a "pop" and the reflective flecks will make it the centerpiece of your design. As for backsplash, neutral and soft is the key, so Carrara marble tile or white subway tile is the way to go.

07:42PM, Jul 12 2011 I’m a huge fan of the Emerald Pearl. I feel it looks so rich and timeless, I would recommend it over the Volga Blue. The Volga Blue doesn’t have as much depth and interesting pattern as the Emerald Pearl. For backsplash, I would keep it light and neutral like a tumbled marble with Emerald Pearl tile inserts to tie everything in together. Let me know what you think!
  • Klux54 04:01PM, Jul 12 2011 Trying to decide between Emerald Pearl or Volga Blue for my kitchen countertop.  Cabinets are white, appliances are stainless, hard wood oak flooring.  I have red and black in my curtains, but there is some blue.  Would the Volga Blue be too much?  I do love the Emerald Pearl as well.  Also, what type of tile backsplash with this color combo?  Thanks!
