Hi Patty! I think you should take the wallpaper down as you've described in your thoughts here. Generally, most wallpaper's are out of style these days, unless it's a new and exciting design, however since you're described it being from 8 years ago, that is not the case here. I recommend to paint with a light and neutral yet warm Benjamin Moore color. Perhaps something like the shades Rich Cream or Simply Irresistible. Hope this helps! :-)

You should search to purchase the tile online. Just write into the Google search engine the name of the tile and at least some online tile outlets should have it in-stock. In regard to wall color, my recommendations for you to consider would be Benjamin Moore series Twisted Oak Path or Lighthouse Landing. Best of luck to you!

Thank you for your feedback, I really like the Nova option, how do I find out more info?  Do you have suggestions for a paint color with my granite and that tile choice?  I'm just not content with the shade of cream I currently have on the wall, its kinda cold/blah, I'm open to any color suggestions.

    Thank you,
    April

Hello April. Well, the backsplash surely needs a replacement. My recommendation for a nice complement to go against Giallo Ornamental countertops would be a beautiful mosaic such as Tilecrest Eclipse series Espresso Linear Glass & Stone Blend, or a Nova Cascade Emperador & Crema Marfil Marble tile. I've attached photos of my suggestions for your easy reference. In regard to the wall color, if you have a neutral creme shade then that's certainly appropriate. Are there any specific colors you're interested in?

Hello, need help with back splash ideas and wall color to coordinate with granite.
I have the giallo napoleon granite for my kitchen counters. I have Kraft maid cabinets color is ginger glazed maple, stainless appliances and hardwood floors in a golden oak (gunstock is color). throughout all of the home. My home is almost 100 years old and the original baseboard and door/window casing was restored  and it is also a golden oak in color, so I don't want to paint it, but I do have crown molding that I would be willing to paint as it it is currently white. There is only 1 window with little natural light in the kitchen. The walls are currently a cream color and the back splash is a ceramic beige tile and the room just looks blah. I would like to replace the back splash and repaint. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks
    April

Since the Brown Persa has plenty of movement and rustic color, a busy backsplash would probably not be the way to go. A subtle mosaic such as Tilecrest Eclipse series Dunes Linear Glass & Stone Blend has some color and would accentuate the granite nicely. I've attached a photo for you. Let me know your thoughts! :-)

Yes! You're on the right track. It's a good idea to to acquire paint palette samples to put them against the countertop and other design elements in the kitchen light to see how you enjoy the combinations.

  • DW76 03:22PM, Sep 19 2012

Oh, thank you!  So the green theme with this granite will work?  I wasn't sure as green isn't even listed as one of the colors on the slab but it seemed to navigate toward that hue when I held a paint swatch next to it.  I'd like to paint before the countertop is installed but wasn't sure if that was advisable...

My recommendation would be something along the lines of Benjamin Moore series Saybrook Sage.

I am updating the kitchen... cabinets are medium oak, floor is a neutral cream/taupe ceramic, appliances are white with black accents.  Granite coming next week is Giallo Napoleon.  Looking for a wall color to make everything pop--considered doing a light/dark combo of paint.  No natural light in kitchen, lots in Nook area.  Room layout is open to living room (taupe carpeting).  Looking for suggestions--was thinking of Glidden Dark Eucalyptus f or or the dark color but not sure where to go from here.  Or is that not even a good idea...hoping someone here has better decorating sense than I do!

Hello Marianne! There are various directions to go in as far as the backsplash selection goes. You could use a rich mosaic such as Capadoccia Glass & Tumbled Travertine, or a calmer choice such as Mediterranean Ivory Tumbled Travertine. I've attached photos for your reference. For the wall color, check out the Benjamin Moore series color(s) called Barely Beige and Linen White. Good luck!

Well, the Veneziano granite will surely complement the Kashmir Gold floor nicely. The Napoleone featured on this page is also an appropriate choice as it's warm and classic. However, I am leaning toward a darker shipment of Veneziano if you can find one, to provide a contrast against the honey maple cabinetry. Good luck!

  • Rs Chan 05:54PM, Jul 12 2012

The Sahara Gold has strong rustic and brownish undertones while the Santa Cecilia is lighter. I'm leaning toward the Sahara Gold in this situation to offset the creme cabinetry and you can use Ivory honed travertine in a random strip mosaic for the backsplash tile. I've attached a photo for you.

Remodeling my kitchen with medium honey wood floors, creme cabinets with mocha glaze..light gold walls in adjacent living and dining rooms...looking for a medium tone granite with a somewhat consistent but interesting pattern. Also looking at Sahara Gold and Santa Cecilia...Any suggestions? Coodinating backsplash too?  Love this website, thanks!

I recommend a darker colored wood for the cabinets to contrast and offset the lighter, warm Giallo Napoleone counters. For example, a mocha glazed cabinet cabinet could be appropriate. For the wall color, Benjamin Moore series Linen White or Navajo White are soft and neutral therefore fine choices. In regard to the backsplash, a creative and fun mosaic such as a glass & stone random strip tile could complement the Napoleone beautifully. I've attached photos of tile suggestions for your reference. Good luck!

    Good Morning,
I have Giallo Napoleone counter tops with stainless appliances. The kitchen walls are med. dark wood paneling. We are keeping the kitchen cabinets. Our livingroom has same medium dark wood paneling and I promised husband we will keep the panelling in the livingroom. What colors do you suggest for my kitchen walls, cabinets,  backsplash and flooring to tie it all in? I thought of drk. beige for kitchen walls but now think a darker cabinet will work better. HELP!

01:34PM, Feb 3 2012 Derek’s Tropical Brown suggestion is spot on! I have this granite on my desk and many customers that see it request to view the stone in a full slab as they are attracted to the rich tones, depth and the beautiful glittering mica.  Since it’s neutral and does not contain specific colors or lots of movement, you cannot go wrong using this stone as it will appeal to a larger amount of prospective buyers. The key is to make sure you love it and when you are ready to sell, the next family can see themselves in the space and design around the granite as they see fit. Always make sure to see this stone in full slab and bring a sample home. Let me know what you think!

04:49PM, Jan 31 2012 Have you considered hardwood floors or tile that resembles wood? For backsplash check out Crema Marfil Classico Split Face Mosaic, Fidenza Stone Glass and Baja Cream Random Mosaic. Keep in mind stacked and split face stone is difficult to clean and maintain because of all the nooks and carneys food and other dirt can get stuck in quite easily. Let me know what you think!
  • DRW6895 09:09PM, Jan 29 2012 I have light maple color cabinets (light golden color) in the kitchen, with stainless steel appliances. The floors are light/natural colored oak hardwood floors.   I would like suggestions regarding what granite colors would look good with this combination.  We have looked at UbaTuba which is very attractive, but we think it may make the kitchen look quite dark.   We have also looked at St. Cecilia & Giallo Napoleone, but we are not sure if they are dark enough for the light maple cabinets.   We are open to suggestions.  We would also like to sell the house in 3-5 years and we would appreciate advice regarding color selection as it relates to re-sale.   Thanks, DRW
  • Millihb 02:52AM, Jan 29 2012 Ok...so here is what I've decided. For my island(black, distressed finish) I have chosen Mombasa granite....For my perimeter cabinets(Cherry cabinets with burgundy stain with a cafe glaze) I have chosen Giallo Fiesta...the two granites compliment each other well and look great with cabinet and island color. Still I am struggling with my backsplash & floor. I really would like to use a stacked or ledge stone for my backsplash but choosing the right color combination is harder than I thought.  PLEASE HELP. Again

08:47PM, Jan 27 2012 Giallo Napoleone is a very appropriate choice that will compliment the warm tones in your design nicely, and contrast the dark cabinetry beautifully. Another option you could consider is Santa Cecilia Real.

06:38PM, Jan 26 2012 If you want to add a boarder on the floor, a consistent and neutral stone like the New Venetian Gold used throughout the entire kitchen would be appropriate. If you do not want to overwhelm the space, you have to decide where to want to add the ‘pop’ - backsplash, floor, countertop or walls? If you like the Crema Bordeaux, stones like Astoria, Cafe Vera,  Cinamon and Milky White would complement the CB without overwhelming the space. I would use the Crema Bordeaux on the island and one of the other stones I suggested for the perimeter. Click here to see a comparison table http://www.Marmidicarrara.com

. Let me know what you think so far!
  • Millihb 05:27AM, Jan 26 2012 Two of the three colors you suggested I already have on my list of choices..So I suppose we are thinking alike...I will take another look at the Venetian Gold. I also like the Crema Bordeaux...but wonder if I might be a bit much. I need two choices of granite that will compliment each other....One for the perimeter cabinets and one for my Island. All my appliances are black...Keep in mind that my cooktop is located on the island. Also, if I were to add a border to the floor would it be too much or overkill? And do you have any suggestions of a stacked stone color that would compliment any of these granites?

06:09PM, Jan 13 2012 The Giallo Napoleone and Santa Cecilia Real are more creme/beige based with neutral, soft tones and occasional burgundy specks, with less golden highlights than, say, New Venetian Gold. So I would recommend one of those for your design. The backsplash also sounds wonderful, it seems that you're on the right track. It's crucial you look at the full slabs of your granite choices, not just small samples, to make your final decision and draw an accurate comparison between the choices. Good luck!
  • Marcia 06:01PM, Jan 13 2012 Hi  Updating my kitchen.  Already have dark antique pine cabinets and white tile flooring.  Like the Giallo Napoloneone and Giallo Ornamentale and have seen these two small samples at the dealers showroom but am uncertain as to which one would look better.   Also thought New Venetian Gold might look nice too. I really don't want a lot of yellow on the countertops. I also saw some off white (creamy) crackle subway tile to use as a backsplash and thought that might look nice with either choice of granite countertop.  I'm really trying to keep a neutral tone in this kitchen as this adjoins my dining room   What do your think?

07:15PM, Sep 27 2011 The Giallo Napoleone is a bit warmer than the Giallo Ornamental, and therefore may be a little more suitable for your design to go against the white truffle cabinetry. Is it too late to change the order? If so, do not worry as Giallo Ornamental is quite similar and will also compliment your design adequately.
