Hello, I've recently had Antique Brown (although it's very dark and almost looks black) in my kitchen.  The contractor put in a piece on the island that was the incorrect size and has to replace it.  Would Giallo Venetziano match for the center island piece in a kitchen that already has Antique Brown on the perimeter?

Hello there. Please accept my deepest apologies for the delay in replying to you. I think the Giallo Veneziano has plenty of warm highlights and a medium shaded base that will both pick-up and contrast the cherry wood at the same time for a balanced combination. Go for it!

Hi. It sounds like your cabinet color tone is a medium to dark brownish shade. The Giallo Veneziano is a classic color style with warm highlights. I'd recommend a subtle and neutral wall paint color. You should look at Benjamin Moore series selections such as Linen White and Navajo White. Hope this helps!

Sounds good! That's a very appropriate choice for your kitchen set-up. You should visit a Benjamin Moore paint store to acquire samples and paint chips before making a final decision. Hope this helps!

Hi there. The Giallo Veneziano is a popular granite choice that will add serenity and warmth to the kitchen set-up along with a classic feel. Some other options for you to check out could be Santa Cecilia, Ouro Brasil, or Copa Gold. I've created a Comparison Table of my choices for your easy side-by-side reference: http://www.Marmidicarrara.com

Hi.  We have white kitchen cabinets, stainless steel appliances, and the kitchen wall color is Benjamin Moore Saybrook Sage.  We're looking for a warm, brown/tan granite for our countertops.  Would you suggest Giallo Veneziano?  What would some other options be?  Thanks so much for your help!

Thanks, I found it! Lapland is a safe choice but it's a little dark, I am leaning more toward a similar shade but a little more neutral and lighter such as Benjamin Moore series Mosaic Tile or perhaps even Grafton Brown. Let me know your thoughts on these two.

  • Dpkane322 02:29AM, Oct 8 2012

  • Dpkane322 03:04AM, Sep 30 2012

I planning on getting Giallo Veneziano as a kitchen counter top and from previous posts Crema Marfil tile would work great as a backsplash.  Question about wall paint...Do you recommend Lapland as a great color?  I'm open to any color that would work well.

Hello. Crema Marfil is a marble, but a backsplash tile of this light, warm color would be very appropriate. I've attached a photo for your reference. For a travertine suggestion, I recommend Ivory travertine. I've also attached  a photo of that. Hope this helps!

I have giallo venenzia counters. My cabinets are soft cream with carmel glaze bead board  and the island is cherry with an autumn finish. The floor is arrowanda bamboo. I was thinking of a soft beige subway tile backsplash, but think I may need sometime of accent and have no idea what to do.(after reading all the comments I"m thinking I should switch to a crema marfil travertine)

Hi Stacy. In regard to the backsplash, you can use a calm and neutral tile shade such as Crema Marifl tumbled marble. The floor tile can be warmer and richer with a choice such as Daltile Portenza Terra di Siena Porcelain tile. I've attached photos for your reference. Good luck!

I like the Torreon travertine as it’s a soft and warm tile that will work great in your space. Since you are using it around the tub, I would probably recommend a honed tile as opposed to tumbled. Tumbled travertine is rough to the touch while the honed is smooth and elegant. Hope this helps, good luck!

  • kim 11:17AM, May 19 2012

Thank you for your suggestion , Derek.  The other travertine we were looking at was Torreon/Cappuccino.  Any thoughts on that one compared to Angelica or Azteca?  Also, would you recommend a honed stone or a tumbled stone for the backsplash of the tub?

Angelica travertine is a stunning, warm brown color that would fit your bathroom set-up quite nicely. Another option I recommend is Tumbled Azteca 4" x 4" tiles. I've attached photos for your reference.

It's not best to use regular mortar for granite tile installation. You should use thinset or a mud job can be performed. A mud job requires troweling a cement mortar then beating tiles into this cement base before the cement is cured. The grout color on a mud job is usually a grey (grey cement) for the floor.

  • PeteDC99 04:40PM, Apr 23 2012

01:16PM, Sep 9 2011 Make sure to look at the slab(s) in-person and pick one that does not have overwhelmingly orange-like undertones. 03:24PM, Sep 1 2011 That sounds like an interesting floor tile you have there. With the Veneziano, you're leaning toward a blending of the cabinet and countertop aspects; which is not always a good thing.  A contrast will make the room vibrant and less boring. By offsetting the cabinets and creating a contrast, the kitchen becomes less stark and dull. In conclusion, I'd use a color that is a darker for that crucial contrast. My suggestions are Tropical Brown, Florence Gold, Imperial Coffee, Bahia Brown, and Butterfly Antique. Let me know what you think!

    07:47PM, Jun 16 2011 Marcg9,

I feel that the Giallo Veneziano may be a bit too light for your setup. Take a look at the Baltic Brown, Copa Gold, Tan Brown and Imperial Coffee- if you really want to make a statement. You should stay away from colors that are too close to your cabinets or floors as the space may end up feeling bland or ‘washed out’. You want to add balance and contrast in the space to make it visually appealing. You should work with the same color palette but go slightly darker on the countertop. Let me know what you think so far!

  • Linda 05:33PM, Mar 29 2010 I am getting my kitchen countertops redone. Would like opinion on which granite color. I have narrowed my choices to santa cecelia or giollo vereziono. My cabinets are medium to dark oak and floors are tan. Also what color hardware do you recommend. I have none now, and would like to add it. My appliances are black, but I am switching to stainless steel--one piece at a time beggining with the cooktop. Thanks in advance.

  • Amy 02:39PM, Nov 17 2009 I have oak cabinets, oak hardwood floors, white appliances to be replaced with stainless as they wear out except for dishwasher which will be replaced with granite install. Home is only eight years old so fairly current in kitchen design. Walls are currently lighter than sage green but color most likely will be changed after granite install. We are going back and forth between Giallo Veneziano and similar lighter granites - Giallo Napolean, Santa Cecilia and darker granites - Verde Butterfly, Verde Peacock, Emerald Pearl, or black/grays. Kitchen is large with attached 4 window bay for dining so it gets a lot of light. Opinions?
  • Micki 11:18PM, Oct 21 2009 One more question...do you have any other suggestion of a granite that would look good with the honey-spice maple cabinets? Possibly one that would give more contrast. I'm not totally attached to Giallo Veneziano but I do like it.

  • Mbienvenu 01:47PM, Dec 17 2007 Having trouble choosing my granite in my kitchen. I have choosen sorreal sky maple cabinets. The sample of granite at show room for Giallo Veneziano has some salmon color in it. Therefore, I have looked into a 18 x 18 tile that has the salmon, browns, and creams for the floor. Then use the same tile but smaller on the backsplash. To much orange?
