- Derek 03:50PM, Feb 16 2012 Hi there. I like your choices so far, especially Kashmir Gold because it's a soft and subtle grain yet the stone gives off much warmth therefore that is my forefront recommendation. You should look at the slabs in-person to really get a feel for the colors, and bring samples home with you to put against the cabinets in the kitchen light to see how you enjoy the various combinations. Good luck!
  • Terriaull 04:01AM, Feb 11 2012 I am just beginning the process of updating kitchen with new flooring, granite counters and paint. So far the colors that have really appealed to me are Lapidus, Kasmir Gold, Madura Gold and Colonel Gold.  I will be keeping the same cabinets.....oak cabinets that are stained a chestnut color.  The grain is fairly busy on the cabinets, so I don't want to pick something that is too busy.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

08:56PM, Feb 10 2012 Kinga's suggestions are wonderful, but I'll just give some food for thought. Have you considered using a glass tile? For example this beige/creme iridescent tile could look very nice in your bathroom design.

03:22PM, Feb 10 2012 Check out Esq Bengali Beige Mosaic Brick, Bucaro Bianco and Blend Rectangles Mosaic. I feel these suggestions contain the colors you are looking for which will compliment your space well. Let me know what you think!
  • Arch 08:34PM, Feb 6 2012 I will be posting in cherry cabinet and Kashmir Gold vanity top. I am confused regarding what color porcelain tiles will look good with them. Want something light, since the bathroom doesn't get any natural light. Nothing too gold or yellow.

07:09PM, Feb 1 2012 Kinga's suggestions are great. I'd recommend an Onyx Light Ivory travertine tile, perhaps in an 18" x 18" size. I've attached an image for your reference.

05:13PM, Jan 31 2012 Check out Luminor Bianco Mosaic, Bucaro Grigio Blu and Anatolia Carisma Grigio. I like the colors in these tiles because they will showcase your cabinets and granite while avoiding the colors you do not like.

08:06PM, Jan 17 2012 Our newest shipment of Kashmir Gold (ID:654) is very interesting, and it's a happy medium in color tone to compliment maple cabinetry quite nicely. The Santa Cecilia is a class and timeless choice that you cannot go wrong with based on your design elements, and it will add warmth to your kitchen. Another option you can consider is Giallo Napoleone. Hope this helps!
  • Saber 01:28AM, Jan 14 2012 I have very natural finish maple cabinets with white appliances. The walls are a burnt orange/terra cotta color. All trim/crown is white. I am putting in granite counters and would like opinion on Gold Kashmire VS Santa Cecilia Vs ?? thanks

07:42PM, Dec 13 2011 I recommend a tumbled Rhine travertine backsplash or a light 1" x 2" sized split-face travertine mosaic. I've attached images for your reference and viewing ease.
  • Linda 09:15PM, Dec 9 2011 I just installed new cherry cedar stained cabinets and Kashnir gold granite. What type of backsplash will look best in my new kitchen?

04:50PM, Nov 4 2011 I'd use a modern backsplash tile such as Bianco brick glass mosaic to complete the look. I've attached an image for your reference.
  • Kathykimball2 06:16PM, Nov 1 2011 I am putting in maple cabinets.  Leaning towards just a clear coat or slight light stain.  The floor is cherry wood-look porclean tiles.  I like Kashir Gold granite, but love the Classic Quartz gemstone.  What type of full backsplash would look good for the granite and the quartz?  All the appliances are stainless, the refrig being the over-sized 4-drawer type.

06:48PM, Oct 27 2011 How about a Honey Onyx polished mosaic? I've attached an image for your reference. You can also use a timeless and classic subway tile, or a bianco brick glass tile (also attached).

02:05PM, Oct 26 2011 Have you considered using a white or tan subway tile? It would give your backsplash a clean and airy feel without overpowering the space. Daltile Glass Pebbles from SouthCypress used as a decorative border would give the backsplash an interesting look. Let me know what you think!
  • Ashleyelizabethjackson 03:10AM, Oct 26 2011 Hello! Have Kashmir gold counter with Benjamin Moore mannequin cream on cabinets and BM autumn gold on walls with Burma teak floor and oil rubbed bronze fixtures. Need recommendations for backsplash color? (do not want travertine) thanks!!!!

01:56PM, Aug 31 2011 'Rhine' and 'Chablis' travertine are also great options, it's best for you to look at the choices in-person to make a final decision, and bring samples home if possible. Good luck!

03:06PM, Aug 24 2011 Consider using light noce travertine or durango tumbled travertine. Durango ivory porcelain tile is also a great option.
  • ester 11:00PM, Aug 21 2011 can you suggest complementing nature stone (e.g. travertine color) and/or porcelain tile colors that would go with this top & cherry bathroom vanity.

03:38PM, Jun 23 2011 Kashmir Gold is a warm choice that would compliment the cherry colored cabinetry and pick up the copper flecks in the stunning Black Galaxy tiles. Another option could be Golden Rock, but may be a tad too dark.
  • Diana 03:13PM, Jun 23 2011 Correction, our floors are Black Galaxy. Please assist with a recommendation for countertops.
  • Diana 02:45PM, Jun 23 2011 Hi, We have an absolute galaxy granite tiled floor + we are installing Pacifica cherry mahogany cabinets. Would Kashmir Gold work? Any other options you would recommend? Because the kitchen is so dark, we want something lighter but the granite should marry the red of the cabinets with the black in the floor...or pehaps I am wrong...what would you recommend? We have no clue!

  • merry 11:03AM, Apr 24 2011 I like the backsplash in image #2. what tile is that ? Thanks
  • Samantha 08:50PM, Apr 23 2011 I have a small room with a U Shaped bar (alot of counter). The cabinets are Maple with a Ginger Stain and Pewter Glaze. The room gets very little natural light. It has no windows, but does have sliders to a covered porch. I want to be able to use brown/beige and marine blue in the room. While I like the Key West Gold, I am wondering if I should go lighter (I definitely don't want to go darker). Do you any suggestions?
  • Pamela 08:00PM, Apr 11 2011 We have medium oak cabinets and green painted walls. Am looking for granite countertops- would Kashmir gold look ok with these colors?
  • Guest 01:15PM, Mar 24 2011 Getting Kashmir gold countertops and island, debating whether to include a backsplash of same material. Is this normally done or should I look at a matching tile to go on the wall? Is it normal to use a small ogee ion the island and a 5/8 rounded on the counter? Thanks.
  • Susan 08:29PM, Mar 19 2011 We have reddish brown colored cherry cabinets and are looking for granite countertop. We are trying to make a decision among Kasmire Gold, Ivory Brown and Incas Gold. What would you recommend? Any other suggestions? Thanks a lot.

  • Anna 04:02PM, Jan 28 2011 What color granite should be used for Black Walnut cabinets(2 tone) with a natural sealer? We will alsohave oak flooring.
  • Mike 12:26AM, Jan 20 2011 I have mocha colored maple cabinets and a slate look porcelain tile floor. We are considering Kashmir Gold to bring the warmth out in some of the multi colored floor tile and lighten the feel of the kitchen. We are also considering Ubatuba, but are concerned about it darkening the not so large kitchen. Thoughts?
  • Rasika 03:45AM, Jan 14 2011 Thanks for the suggestion! Any other granites that you would think would look nice with full back splash for our auburn glazed maple cabinets? Thanks again!
  • Vicki 12:49PM, Jan 12 2011 Getting Washington cherry cabinets, black appliances in a small kitchen. I am planning on using copper accents collected over the years. I have not picked the flloor yet. Suggestions on a light granite ?

  • Anna 05:34PM, May 30 2010 Hi, I have maghonany coloured cabinets with tumbled travetine backsplash. My floor tile has a very slight tinge of pinkish orange. Which granite goes better, Madura Gold or Kashmir Gold Thanks
  • mike 07:11PM, May 6 2010 what is the price per sqft?
  • Stephanie 04:33PM, Mar 31 2010 Thanks....but I meant to ask about Colonial Gold and Kashmir Gold. I am still hoping you will say Colonial Gold though. Are both in the same approx. price range?
  • Stephanie 01:12PM, Mar 31 2010 I have hazelnut maple cabinets with a black glaze. I am deciding between Colonial Gold (beige/gold with dark brown spleckles that match the cabs) or Madura Gold (darker granite). What do you think would be better? I am looking for a traditional look. Thanks!
  • Fran 10:09AM, Mar 25 2010 We have ivory cream cabs w/bronze glaze, red oak floors and a cherry island (chestnut finish). Trying to find granite that pulls in both without overwhelming the room (ie not too orange). I ahve seen this stone look amazing in pics, but in person alot of pink and peach. Why is that..is it more a white stone w/gold or white stone w/peach streaks.
  • Bernadine 08:46AM, Mar 11 2010 I'm doing a total rehab of my small L-shaped kitchen. I picked steinless steel appliances and cognac colored (dark amber) maple shaker cabinets and island. I'm thinking of Cashmere Gold, New Venitian Gold, Santa Cecilia and Giallo Vincencia for the countertop and 4" backsplash. Which one will be a good choice? What color of wall and hardwood floor will be good to match to have a contemporary look kitchen. Thank you.
  • Rita 01:04PM, Dec 12 2009 I have medium dark cabinets, beige floor tiles, light brown walls. Suggestions for countertops? Have looked at Kashmir Gold, Sapphire Blue.
  • jill 12:48PM, Nov 17 2009 Thanks for answering...So rather than plaster white I'm thinking (of the million shades) a chalk white. Is it better to blend the floor (since it's a lot of color, and runs through the house) and countertops? Would a chocolate top,(Say Emperador or Platinum bahia)with softly glazed white cabinets be too busy with the 3rd color entry of the saltillo floor. Or..would the pastel saltillos just blend into the background, possibly use a similar color on the tiny bit of wall left. And the 3rd option as discussed, would it be more elegant to have the countertops and tumbled onyx which are the same color family match the floor with the white version of cabinets between to break it up. Don't want it to be monotonous. thanks again!
  • Jill 05:19PM, Nov 16 2009 Love love love your site! I think you need a branch on the west coast... Ok, here's the dilemma: Must stay, soft pastel saltillo (works with French Cty/Tuscany etc). Changing: the 90's bleached oak to a white/glazed cabinet. Love the Something's gotta give lok but need it softened a bit to go with the rest of the house. Looking at Kashmir Gold and the sample I have is very soft peaches and yellows with gray and brown speckles. Backsplash - tumbled onyx "Lumina" non glossy finish with all the same colors in the subway shape. The Kashmir gold (who really knows it's real name here) is identical to the pastel saltillo floor. Will the glazed white cabinets work? Or should I keep them very white (chalk white, not plasterboard white)...with Oil rubbed bronze hardware for a more relaxed look. going for elegant but not stuffy. I started out wanting a chocolate countertop with white kitchen.. Ideas? I have read all comments on all 250 pics fabulous!
  • Jeff 12:05PM, Oct 5 2009 I have been to several granite fabricators and they price the granite by "level"; the higher the level the greater $$/ft. Is there a difference in the quality of granite, or is this more a factor of supply/demand? I like the Kashmir Gold (higher Level), so is this considered a better grade of granite over say St. Cecelia?
  • valerie 10:50PM, Aug 31 2009 We have brown walnut cabinets, "tuscan red" walls, stainless steel appliances. Can you suggest a granite countertop?
  • Jo 10:08AM, Jul 31 2009 Would this Kashimir gold stone work with maple cabinets that have a brown finish almost cinnamon color
  • karen R 04:27PM, Jul 26 2009 Hello, we have picked out a creamy light colored kashmir gold slab for our countertops with hardly no peach but more silver grey veining and LOTS of mica chips. We have Canvas cabinets and Special Walnut stain on oak floors. Can you recommend a backsplash?
  • Kristy 12:40PM, Mar 11 2009 I have Natural Oak cabinets with a light cream floor. Are my oak cabinets too country/casual to use Golden Beach or Kashmir gold? All patterned granite seems to fights with the grain. Can you make suggestions.
