Hello. Madura Gold is a solid choice to go against fruitwood stained wood because of it's rich colors and warm feel. Another option I recommend to consider would be Golden Rock, as well as Exotic Gold and Crema Bordeaux. Hope this helps!

  • Caravan67 08:10PM, Nov 12 2012

I have fruitwood stained cabinets white appliances, off white tile floor, and walls are a soft yellow. What granite countertop would you recommend. Is Madura Gold good or something else. Please help Thanks

My recommendations for you are timeless and classic countertop choices such as Santa Cecilia Real and Giallo Napoleone. For the backsplash, you can use a natural tumbled Noce or Mocha travertine tile.

It depends on the color tone of your Mardura Gold slab you've chosen. The Madura can vary quite drastically between shipments in color tone and pattern. Generally, it's warm golden tones look stunning against cherry cabinetry so you can use a light and neutral backsplash such as Palladium Travertine in a stacked mosaic or Oyster Mix travertine tile. I've attached photos for your reference. Good luck!

We have a large two level u shape kitchen area plus a 20 ft. wall of cabinets (need about 100 sq. ft. of granite). Existing dark cherry cabinets, stainless appliances, light natural wood floor. Need suggestions for granite and back splash. I don't want granite back splash. Also need suggestions for tile on wall between granite and cabinet along the long wall where there is 18 inches between. Looking for granite with slight veins and specks.

What is the cost of Madurai Gold per sq foot?

  • Karendimodica 10:47PM, Apr 28 2012

I have a very rich; but lite cherry kitchen cabinet; and a light cream & beige ceramic tile floor.  Stove/Microwave are black/stainless with black frig and dishwasher.  I chose Madura Gold today for countertop.  Is this contrasting enough?  Back splash.  Do I want to darken or lighten that area?

03:38PM, Oct 28 2011 I'd recommend shaker style cabinet, that's appropriate for your design. As for color suggestions, calm, soft, neutral yet warm colors such as New Venetian Gold, Giallo Ornamental, plus also Santa Cecilia Real and Giallo Napole, are an excellent choice for the base cabinet. For the second level, a richer color with movement such as Crema Bordeaux, Golden Shadow S, Madura Gold, and New Colonial Dream are great options to consider. Hope this helps!
  • snowdrop 03:22PM, Oct 28 2011 Yeah i have an L shaped open kitchen as shown in the picutre. we are planning on having a cook top and a wall over too...Any recommendations on the cabinets(like raised panel/shaker style). Please find the javaglaze  cabinet color at www.aristokraft.com  Any of your recommendations will help.

07:29PM, Sep 13 2011 Have you looked at the Madura Gold slabs in-person and verified that the fabricator has slabs of Madura Gold that look like our 304 "ID" ? I just do not want there to be any major disappointment. I've done a search for your updated cabinet color and concluded that it's a darker shade, although an image of the cabinets or actual company name of the shade would be helpful. Anyway, my suggestions for your countertop are the following: http://www.Marmidicarrara.com
Let me know what you think!
  • Hunter0627 11:34PM, Sep 9 2011 Thanks for replying. I changed the color of the cabinets to a maple brown shade. Since we're having our cabinets painted it seems to be harder. 304 is the number of the madura gold. My floor pattern is veiny, so now I'm not sure if I should go with specks or veins. I'm not stuck on Madura gold. Any other suggestions for the color granite. I didn't think it was going to be this difficult. Thanks again

01:24PM, Sep 9 2011 Please be aware that Madura Gold can vary wildly between each batch and delivery. Which Madura Gold "ID" on this page are you leaning toward using as your countertop? Usually Madura Gold has plenty of golden and orange undertones. These hues bring plenty of warmth to the design, so a dark cherry cabinet could create an elegant contrast and fit the set-up nicely. That's my choice.
  • Hunter0627 09:23AM, Sep 9 2011 Need help with the color of our cabinets. We like the
Madura gold. Our floor is a med. Beige tile with alittle gray and white in it. And the color of our walls are rich cream. My cabinets are being painted. Unsure if we should go dark or light with the cabinet.

12:47PM, Aug 11 2011 We have Madura Gold in-stock at our South Plainfield, NJ location. We have had multiple deliveries of this stone over time and I'm not sure exactly which batches we have stocked at this location at the moment, you would have to come visit and take a look at the slabs in-person. You can also call the office and inquire about the color tones on the current slabs. Madura Gold is a solid choice that will create warmth and an inviting atmosphere in your design. Some other suggestions are 'Bordeaux' and 'Four Seasons'. Good luck!
  • Sarina 04:30AM, Aug 10 2011 We have Shenandoah Winchester Cherry Spice cabinets with natural Brazilian cherry 5" width floor (kitchen, eat-in kitchen, family room) in a fairly open plan.  I'm thinking about going with Madura Gold for the counter top (u-shaped, with peninsula, with sink in the middle of the u. Considering Elkay or Blanco composite granite sink in 'mocha' or 'cafe brown' respectively).  I'm leaning towards Madura Gold, ID306.  Do you have any other suggestions? Is this granite available in your South Plainfield warehouse?

01:36PM, Jul 15 2011 My pick also goes for Colonial Gold. The light undertones in this stone will offset your cherry cabinetry, while the golden veins will compliment the design at the same time. A perfect balance!

    08:44PM, Jul 14 2011 Sand Bn99,
Both stones would look equally beautiful in your space. Remember, there are many shipments of both stones so you may want to look at as many as you can to find the one you like best. Personally, I like the Colonial Gold better for your setup as the patterns and colors tend to have more depth and feel richer as opposed to the Madura Gold. Hope this helps!

  • Kelly 12:47PM, Jul 19 2010 We have golden oak cabinets, a smaller country kitchen, how would this look with our cabinets.? • Kathy M 08:07PM, Oct 30 2009 Our cabinets are dove white, white tile floors with some beige highlights. Is this too light for the countertops? The adjoining family room has medium brown pine cabinets, not putting granite there... just the wood. Would a darker Madura Gold work better?
  • Laurie 02:40PM, Oct 24 2009 Previous owner installed granite around island cooktop--looks almost black with greenish tinge with rust and cream specks--might be verde peacock. We want to replace laminate on perimeter counters with complementary granite--no blacks or dark greens-would look too dark. We have white painted cabinets, mix of white and stainless appliances and terracotta colored rubber tile floors. What granite would you recommend? We liked madurai gold. Any others we should consider?
  • Lucy 05:15AM, Sep 20 2009 I have hand-scraped wood floors (whiskey color)that are medium brown with some streaks of brown. The cabinets are oak in peppercorn brown. Will the medura gold work for the countertops? I am interested in a light colored backsplash. What do you think?
