The Classic White and Classic White Lunar are different shipments and have slight variations. I've created a Comparison Table of the newest shipments of our regular Classic White for your easy reference: http://www.Marmidicarrara.com

Hope this helps!

Hi Kirstin. Indeed, we have had success with Classic White installations in a kitchen countertop setting. This stone is stronger than regular marble, but not as durable as a true granite. Kind of in middle in terms of technical specifications, if that makes sense. I recommend to reseal this stone with a strong sealer every six months to make sure it stays stain resistant. I recommend for you to use the DuPont StoneTech Bulletproof Sealer. Take a look here: http://www.mrstone.com/granite...

I love marble, most of the white's with gray veins. Seems like marble not right choice for kitchen counters though. Classic White Lunar (and classic white?) seems to be a good alternative. Would you agree as far as look? What about placement. Would quartzite be strong enough and resilient enough for range side counters and kitchen dining countertops?

  • Kristin 05:28PM, Dec 29 2012

I only see two versions of classic white lunar in the quartzite pictures. What is classic white? Can you post a picture?

Any slabs in Plainfield. I am debating all white cabinet/island kitchen vs white cabinets  with gray island.  like the colonial family granites and some quartzite options.

Unfortunately we do not know the name of the backsplash(es) used in the work example portfolio. We only installed the countertop itself and have information on that.

The Classic White is kind of in the middle of granite and marble in terms of durability and maintenance. To be on the safe side, I would reseal the stone approximately every six months instead of every twelve months like the stronger, regular granite's. My inventory check gas informed me that we should have a few slabs at our Deer Park, NY facility available for viewing. If you are concerned about the durability, strength, and maintenance of this stone, then I strongly suggest to acquire a sample at the location and bring it home to test it out yourself and live with it for a little. This countertop selection is an important decision so it's good to take the time and make the right decision! You should seal the sample then test it out by trying to stain it with acidic juices and stuff like that. Hope this helps!

Lastly, do you know what backsplash these are in your work examples pics??  They're a perfect match!

  • Baobaix101 02:34PM, Sep 23 2012

Is this granite or quartzite?  How durable is it for use in the kitchen??  Mainly I'm concerned about heat resistance and staining....And do you have it in the Deer Park location so I can take a look tomorrow(monday 9/24/12)?  Thanks!

03:01PM, Dec 27 2011 If you reseal the Classic White every six to twelve months, then it will stay stain resistant and should not stain from regular usage, although leaving a red wine spill overnight ect is still not a good idea and these things should be wiped up immediately. To complete the sleek, elegant, and modern "white kitchen" look, for the wall color I'd use a choice such as Mythic paint "Fading Frost" and I've uploaded a picture of this shade for you to see. Hope this helps!

01:44PM, Dec 23 2011 If you do not properly seal it and you let spill sit there for an extended period of time, you could stain the countertop. However, with proper maintenance you shouldn’t have any problems. For backsplash I would recommend the always classic honed White Cararra paired with Benjamin Moore’s “Gray Lake” or “Gray Cashmere”.  Another beautiful backsplash option is the Murano Vena JS0387. Let me know what you think!
  • Devorah 10:01PM, Dec 22 2011 I take it that this is granite.  Will it show stains and spills or will they wipe off easily?
Also, what color will should I paint the walls, and what kind of backsplash do you suggest? I have white cabinets. Thank you. Devorah

05:52PM, Oct 12 2011 When we send a technician to measure and template, he determines if it’s possible for us to deliver and install a 120” piece. There are many factors that come into play when we determine if a project needs a seam or not. It is impossible to establish if a specific project needs a seam without physically inspecting the jobsite. The biggest concern any fabricator and installer has is the actual delivery. We take into consideration if the stone a customer chose can handle the delivery. We have done numerous projects with enormous islands the sizes of full slabs without any seams as our technician determined it’s possible and safe for us to deliver it. We always aim for a seamless project but if a specific circumstance does not allow us to delivery one piece, we will have to seam it which again is determined at the time of the template.
  • Elke 05:01PM, Oct 12 2011 If it comes in slabs up to 139" is it possible to get a piece fabricated at 120"?

09:58PM, Oct 10 2011 The longest Classic White Lunar which is located in our Ridgefield Park, NJ facility is only 113”. Slabs vary from 70” to 139” depending on the stone and shipment. Please note we do not sell full slabs as we are a fabricator.
  • Elke 02:17PM, Oct 10 2011 Can I get a slab in 120" for my island? WHat is the biggest size this comes in? THanks.
